Fencing the landlords out

Friend Dibyo has cartoons and more cartoons on the US immigration policy in his sporadic toonblogging series.

Amongst other coverage and rants on the proposed changes to the policy, Nat Geo has the environmental opinion. While the 47 endangered species (including the Jaguar) have not come out in opposition yet (wearing Mexican flags), they would face severe threat from the fence as it would block out key wildlife routes and slice their ecosystem in half.

DHS's (Department of Homeland Security) Agen said his agency takes environmental regulation "pretty seriously." "But at the same time," he said, "the secretary's priority is securing the homeland. If [Chertoff] feels that some of these environmental regulations are preventing national security, then he'll use his authority to waive those [laws]." Yes, that's taking the enviroment seriously.

By the way, US teens have chosen to react to it just the way the can. Puerile stuff.
