Andhra soccer
All Telegu speaking people should be proud.
For all the hype of Bengal, Goa and Kerala being the hub of football in India, Andhra Pradesh became the first Indian state to play in the Fifa World Cup.
This from the state whose greatest contribution to football in the recent years was this dialogue (by Balakrishna, NTR's son*!):
"U can find tea in teacup. But cannot find world in world cup."
* The source has been disputed by others. Some say it was the Kannada actor, Balakrishna and some say it was Upendra. I don't care too much, but find it funny.

In that case, Africa should be proud too... Most of the great NBA players can be traced back to Africa!
But then, Africa might have other reasons to be proud... they dont need to go hunting for reasons like us!

Africa and hunting in the same sentence may look like a politically incorrect pun. But, yes, you got the theme.

Telugu speaking people are the best in the world. People like Vikash Dhosaroo make my state proud.
Proud to be a gult!

source is disputed for sure, the compilation of quotes must be sent by unaware of cultural differences in southern states. The last time i heard world cup and tea cup together was in a telugu song.
and dont forget other tekugu luminaries like Bangaru Laxman, Vennkiah Naidu and Stephen Appiah (we can claim he is).

This is not fair Dhoomk. You give us something to be proud about and then immediately mention Balakrishna to put us back in our place? :)
